ULAK Communications Inc. was established on April 20, 2017, by SSTEK Defense Industry Technologies Inc. to conduct R&D and engineering activities for mobile and broadband communication systems used by commercial network operators, as well as the production, testing, assembly, integration, sales, marketing, import, and export of these systems and spare parts, and to provide training, maintenance, and support services. ASELSAN acquired 51% of ULAK Communications Inc.’s shares from SSTEK on October 1, 2018. HAVELSAN Inc. acquired 25% of the company’s shares from SSTEK on February 10, 2020.
The ULAK 4G Core Network is an advanced packet-switched network system that forms the backbone of 4G LTE technology, managing all data and voice communication. The ULAK EPC (Enhanced Packet Core) provides the foundation of 4G technology, ensuring high-speed, reliable, and efficient transmission of data and voice services. The ULAK 4G Core Network provides a fast and secure communication infrastructure for public safety, enabling effective responses during crises. It enhances coordination during emergencies and ensures secure data sharing. Additionally, it allows seamless use of video conferencing, online systems, and other data-intensive applications.
The 4.5G system offers an end-to-end solution that delivers higher data rates compared to previous generations, enabling seamless service for voice, data, and multimedia streaming anytime and anywhere. With 4.5G connectivity technologies, the aim is to provide the public with fast and uninterrupted communication services for safety and emergencies through mobile network operators. To achieve this, ULAK’s universal and commercial coverage extends across Türkiye. ULAK 4.5G base stations currently provide uninterrupted and secure communication services to more than 2.5 million citizens.
